Microcurrent works by creating pulses of electricity. The waves of these pulses are measured in 3 ways to determine their ‘strength’ - how long the wave is, how many waves per second and how sharp the ‘rise and fall’ of the wave is. The length and frequency of the microcurrent for LiftOff® is 300-350 micro amps (mA). The intensity of the waves is what changes with each of the levels 1-4.

Think of it like going to the gym - you can’t go once and expect a six-pack! But you will definitely feel a difference after your first session. The more often you use LiftOff, the better your results will be. If you use LiftOff 4 times a week for the first 4 weeks, you should definitely see the difference*. And then you need to be using it at least 1-2 times per week to maintain the results.

The best way to measure the effectiveness is to take selfies, as you might not notice the changes looking at yourself in the mirror every day. Take photos in the same place, makeup-free, in a well-lit space every 7 days then use a photo editing app (like Instagram Layout) to put them side by side.

*Most people see results after 4 weeks, but you should use the device for at least 8 weeks if you’re not seeing results straight away. If you still don’t feel like you’re seeing results after 8 weeks, please get in touch.

Yes. Without it, the microcurrent simply cannot penetrate the skin. Imagine LifOff is like a plug and your skin is a wall - you need the socket or else you’re just bashing a plug on the surface! The superconductive gel is specifically designed to help the microcurrent flow into your skin. Oil-based moisturisers/serums will block or dampen the microcurrent.

No. It should not be painful to use. You should always start at Level 1 and work your way up to build up tolerance. If you go straight in at Level 4, you will get a shock!

We have had a couple of people with fillings who have mentioned it is less comfortable over areas where they have them, and have chosen to avoid those areas. This is thought to be caused due to the presence of metal in the mouth (either braces or amalgam fillings), which will conduct the electric current and can stimulate the nerve endings. If you don't have fillings, we are aware that some users can find the sensation quite strong, especially in comparison to other microcurrent products they may have used. Normally this sensation subsides after the first few uses.

There is a difference in the current strength between MAGNITONE LiftOff® and some other devices available. Ours operates at a slightly higher level than others which means you can feel the current a little more, but it also means that your facial muscles are responding to it much deeper, in the same way they would with any Electrical Muscle Stimulation device. What you should feel is a pulsed sensation - this is often barely noticeable but it can feel like small electric shocks that can cause the facial muscles to twitch whilst the product is in contact with the skin. However, it shouldn't cause pain or prolonged discomfort or restricted movement after use. If the sensation is painful on the lowest setting, then you may wish to discontinue using it.

Alternatively, try switching from our Superconductive Gel to a normal moisturiser or serum, or to no gel at all. The oil base in normal moisturisers can help to dampen and block the current, meaning it penetrates less well into the skin and may be helpful for you to build up use from.

It completely depends on how long you’re using the device for each treatment, how often you use it and on what setting. If you’re using it on level 4, the battery won’t last as long as if you’re using it on level 1 because level 4 uses more power. On average, if you’re using LiftOff for 5 minutes, 4 times a week on level 1-2, one charge should last at least 2 weeks.

Microcurrents are small pulses of electricity that stimulate the muscles to contract, strengthening and toning them, as well as enhancing the blood circulation within our skin cells and facial muscles. Think of this as strength training or a HIIT workout for your face, keeping it energised, boosting facial definition and radiance.

Small pulses of electrical current stimulate motor nerves, resulting in the contraction of muscles. This contraction strengthens and firms the muscles, as well as stimulating blood flow. Increasing the blood supply to the area not only brings more oxygen, but helps to remove waste. Microcurrent re-educates the muscles for longer lasting results.

Yes. This treatment has been used for over 50 years with no harmful side effects. There are a number of contraindications with certain conditions. Do NOT use LiftOff if you have any of the following:

Have a history of epilepsy or seizures.
Have had recent surgery or other surgical procedures.
Have any electronic implanted device such as a defibrillator, neurostimulator, pacemaker, or ECG Monitor.
Use a body worn medical device, such as an insulin pump
Have any active cancer or have recently recovered from or had treatment for any suspicious or cancerous lesions
Are under the care of a doctor for any ongoing medical condition, consult them before using this device.
Have a known history of carotid artery disease, stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), carotid stenosis, unstable blood pressure,easy fainting, thyroid disease, or prior surgical procedures in the neck area.
Have a tendency for bleeding following acute injury or breaks in bones.

Yes, microcurrent can be used effectively and safely in conjunction with active skincare products. Your wider skincare routine is always an important part of microcurrent use and using products with active ingredients is fine, provided that your skin is not reacting to any active ingredients you are using, such as Retinol or Vitamin C. If you are reacting to a product please seek medical advice.
