FAQ for MAGNITONE FaceRocket® 5-in-1 Facial Firming + Toning Device

FaceRocket® is a 5-in-1 facial firming and toning device by MAGNITONE London. It uses a combination of radiofrequency, microcurrent, LED light therapy, cryotherapy and sonic massage in 3 easy to use settings. It is clinically proven to improve skin firmness by 29%, dermal density by 35% and reduce wrinkles by 10%. (Average result based on regular use over 4 weeks).

The different technologies are measured in different ways.

The radiofrequency in the FIRM setting heats to 42℃

The microcurrent in the TONE setting has 3 different intensities. Microcurrent works by creating pulses of electricity. The waves of these pulses are measured in 3 ways to determine their ‘strength’ - how long the wave is, how many waves per second and how sharp the ‘rise and fall’ of the wave is. The length and frequency of the microcurrent for FaceRocket® is 300-500 micro amps (mA). The intensity of the waves is what changes with each of the levels 1-3.

The strength of the LED light therapy is the same across all of the settings, operating at different wavelengths depending on the colour of light. Red LED (FIRM and TONE) operates at 620-750nm and green LED (COOL) operates at 475-545nm.

The cryotherapy in the COOL setting cools to 4℃.

Yes! In an independent study of 32 individuals aged 33-50, FaceRocket® was clinically proven to improve skin firmness by 29%, dermal density by 35% and wrinkle reduction by 10%. (Average result based on regular use over 4 weeks).

In a participant questionnaire following the study, 97% said their skin felt more lifted + toned, 97% said their skin looked more radiant and 100% said their skin looked more youthful.

Think of it like going to the gym - you can’t go once and expect a six-pack! But you will definitely feel a difference after your first session. The more often you use FaceRocket®, the better your results will be.

We recommend that you follow our step-by-step 28 Day Face Programme, which will guide you through your first 4 weeks of daily treatments. When your 28 days have finished, maintain the results by using FIRM Mode at least once a week and TONE mode 1-3 times a week. COOL mode can be used daily, as required.

The best way to measure the effectiveness is to take selfies, as you might not notice the changes looking at yourself in the mirror every day. Take photos in the same place, makeup-free, in a well-lit space every 7 days then use a photo editing app (like Instagram Layout) to put them side by side.

*Most people see results after 4 weeks, but you should use the device for at least 8 weeks if you’re not seeing results straight away. If you still don’t feel like you’re seeing results after 8 weeks, please get in touch.

Yes. Without it, the radiofrequency and microcurrent simply cannot penetrate the skin. Imagine FaceRocket® is like a plug and your skin is a wall - you need the socket or else you’re just bashing a plug on the surface! The superconductive gel is specifically designed to help the microcurrent flow into your skin. Oil-based moisturisers/serums will block or dampen the radiofrequency/microcurrent.

No. It should not be painful to use. With the TONE mode, you should always start at Level 1 and work your way up to build up tolerance. If you go straight in at Level 3, you will get a shock!

We have had a couple of people with fillings who have mentioned it is less comfortable over areas where they have them, and have chosen to avoid those areas. This is thought to be caused due to the presence of metal in the mouth (either braces or amalgam fillings), which will conduct the electric current and can stimulate the nerve endings. If you don't have fillings, we are aware that some users can find the sensation quite strong, especially in comparison to other microcurrent products they may have used. Normally this sensation subsides after the first few uses.

There is a difference in the current strength between MAGNITONE FaceRocket® and some other devices available. Ours operates at a slightly higher level than others which means you can feel the current a little more, but it also means that your facial muscles are responding to it much deeper, in the same way they would with any Electrical Muscle Stimulation device. What you should feel is a pulsed sensation - this is often barely noticeable but it can feel like small electric shocks or vibrations that can cause the facial muscles to twitch whilst the product is in contact with the skin. However, it shouldn't cause pain or prolonged discomfort or restricted movement after use. If the sensation is painful on the lowest setting, then you may wish to discontinue using it.

It completely depends on how long you’re using the device for each treatment, how often you use it and on what setting. The FIRM mode (radiofrequency + LED) uses a lot more energy than the COOL mode, for example.

While following the 28 Day Face Programme, we recommend charging the device every 4th day to keep it topped up while you’re using it daily.

Once the programme has finished, it completely depends on how often you use FaceRocket® and on what setting.

For your first 4 weeks of daily treatments, we recommend that you follow our step-by-step 28 Day Face Programme, which has FIRM treatments every 3 days.

When your 28 days have finished, maintain the results by using FIRM Mode at least once a week. FIRM mode should not be used more than once every 3 days, you need to give time for your skin to ‘repair’ and ‘rebuild’ the collagen between treatments.

We recommend that you follow our step-by-step 28 Day Face Programme, which will guide you through your first 4 weeks of daily treatments. When your 28 days have finished, maintain the results by using FIRM Mode at least once a week and TONE mode 1-3 times a week. COOL mode can be used daily, as required.

FIRM mode is best for firming and tightening the skin.

TONE mode is best for toning and contouring the facial muscles.

COOL mode is best for instant depuffing, soothing and brightening.

Before you begin, make sure your skin is fully cleansed - free of makeup, surface oils and daily grime.

Press and hold the power button to turn on FaceRocket®. It will automatically start in FIRM Mode. While the device warms up, apply a generous layer of Superconductive Gel to your skin.
Starting at the chin, place the head of FaceRocket® flush to your skin and gently move in small circular motions. After 5 seconds you will hear a beep, this means you need to move on to the next section of your face. Always keep FaceRocket® moving in FIRM Mode. DO NOT hold in one place.
Work along the jawline up to the ear on one side of your face, then repeat this section of your face 2 more times. So you’re doing 3 x 'repetitions' in total. Using this same technique move on to the next section of your face and continue to work around your face.
Once you have completed your whole face, you can go back and work on any specific problem areas such as smile line, frown lines or crows feet. To do this, gently move FaceRocket® in small circular motions for 15 seconds (3 x 5 second beeps).
When you're done, remove any excess gel with a clean, damp cloth and complete your skincare routine as normal.

Press and hold the power button to turn on FaceRocket®. Press the power button again to select TONE Mode. FaceRocket® in TONE mode will start at Level 1 Microcurrent intensity.
Apply a generous layer of Superconductive Gel to your skin. You can apply to the whole face or section by section, and re-apply throughout the treatment as necessary.
Starting at the chin, place the head of FaceRocket® flush to your skin and gently glide along the jaw, up to your ear, until you hear a beep. Repeat this section of your face 2 more times. So you’re doing 3 x 'repetitions' in total.Using this same technique move on to the next section of your face and continue to work around your face.
Once you have completed your whole face, you can go back and work on any specific problem areas such as lips, smile lines or frown lines. To do this, hold FaceRocket® in one place for up to 15 seconds (3 x 5 second beeps).

When you're done, remove any excess gel with a clean, damp cloth and complete your skincare routine as normal.

Make sure your skin is clean and makeup free.

Press and hold the power button to turn on FaceRocket®. Press the power button again twice to select COOL Mode. Press the Level button to choose your massage setting.
Cooling mode does not require pre-application of any product however, for best results, apply a generous layer of a nourishing serum such as Hyaluronic Acid or Vitamin C (not included) to help FaceRocket® to glide and to hydrate your skin. This is optional and Cooling Mode can be used without any product at all.
Starting at the chin, place the head of FaceRocket® flush to your skin and gently glide along the jaw, up to your ear, until you hear a beep. If you have any areas you want to focus on, you can hold the device in place for up to 15 seconds - still or in small circular motions.
When you're done, any serum should be absorbed. Complete your skincare routine with SPF and moisturiser.

There are multiple treatments one can have to improve skin firmness, texture, tone and radiance - FaceRocket® uses 5 of these methods all in one device - radiofrequency, microcurrent, LED light therapy, cryotherapy and sonic massage. By combining these technologies, you’re tackling these symptoms from multiple angles and should therefore see more improved results, faster than using just one type of treatment alone.

The radiofrequency is working as soon as it's on FIRM mode, but radiofrequency isn't something you can feel (like you can with the microcurrent). You can start using the device straight away, you don't need to wait for it to warm up.

The energy from the radio waves causes the cells below the skin’s surface to oscillate (vibrate), which creates heat, so you will start to feel the warming sensation as you use it. The device will start to warm up as well, but you don't need to wait for it in order for it to be working.

Yes, FaceRocket® can be used effectively and safely in conjunction with active skincare products. Your wider skincare routine is always an important part of FaceRocket® use and using products with active ingredients is fine, provided that your skin is not reacting to any active ingredients you are using, such as Retinol or Vitamin C. If you are reacting to a product please seek medical advice.

Yes. You should wait for about 3 weeks after having fillers before you start using radiofrequency/microcurrent again. Your clinician/dermatologist will be able to advise you how long you should wait. Radiofrequency/microcurrent will not alter results of fillers, only enhance them. Radiofrequency and microcurrent are non-invasive, natural alternatives to fillers.

Yes. Your clinician/dermatologist will be able to advise you how long you should wait after your treatment before you can start using radiofrequency/microcurrent. Radiofrequency/microcurrent will complement these treatments and should improve results. Radiofrequency and microcurrent are non-invasive, natural alternatives to ‘tweakments’.

Yes. Radiofrequency, microcurrent and LED treatments have been used for over 50 years with no harmful side effects. There are a number of contraindications with certain conditions. Do NOT use FaceRocket® if you have any of the following:

Have a history of epilepsy or seizures.
Have had recent surgery or other surgical procedures.
Have any electronic implanted device such as a defibrillator, neurostimulator, pacemaker, or ECG Monitor.
Use a body worn medical device, such as an insulin pump
Have any active cancer or have recently recovered from or had treatment for any suspicious or cancerous lesions
Are under the care of a doctor for any ongoing medical condition, consult them before using this device.
Have a known history of carotid artery disease, stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), carotid stenosis, unstable blood pressure,easy fainting, thyroid disease, or prior surgical procedures in the neck area.
Have a tendency for bleeding following acute injury or breaks in bones.
