Yoga from your desk?

Yes you read right...

Here are some simple stretches to do at your desk to waken the mind and invigorate the body. Get your whole office moving!

Breathe

Place your hands on the sides of your ribs. Breathe in and send your breath into your side ribs, feel them expanding out. Breathe out and feel the rib cage softening. Repeat for 10 breaths out and 10 breaths in.

    

Angry Cat / Happy Cow

Place your hands on your desk and push your chair back slightly. Exhale and push away from your desk round your back and dropping your chin. Inhale and pull your heart forward lifting your chin. 

            

Happy Hips

Place your right ankle on your left knee. Flex the foot, feel the keen descending to the floor. If you want to intensify the stretch start to walk your hands forward on your desk. Switch legs.

           

Core

Sit with your feet planted at hip width. Exhale as your raise your legs parallel to the floor sucking your belly back as you do. Inhale lower the legs. Repeat 10 times.

          

Spiral your Spine

Inhale lift your spine up, exhale twist to the right placing your hands on the side and / or back of your chair. Take 5 breaths. As you inhale lift the spine, as you exhale twist. Repeat on the left side.
